Our Early Years is a happy place where children are motivated and encouraged to learn from the tender age of 2½ up to 5 years.

- Kindergarten is for children aged 2½ to 3½ years
- Pre-Prep is from 3½ to 4½ years
- Reception from aged 4+ when the academic year starts in the September following their fourth birthday.

A caring nurturing environment

Our dedicated team of experienced Early Years Teaching Staff creates an enriching learning environment, offering a blend of exciting challenges and a nurturing atmosphere to support children's academic growth. Our educational journey begins in Kindergarten, progressing through Early Years and Infants, culminating in the Juniors. Each stage is carefully designed to prepare children for their secondary school experience.

Children aged 2-5 benefit from the Cool Milk scheme, receiving fresh cow's milk, healthy snacks, and lunches daily. Additionally, we offer outstanding wrap-around care services, including breakfast and after-school clubs, as well as a wide range of after-school activities and clubs to enhance their overall development.

Millie’s Mark Award

Breaside has earned Millie's Mark, a significant accomplishment for our school. We appreciate our dedicated staff's hard work and commitment to exceeding health and safety standards and pediatric first aid requirements.

Millie's Mark is a special endorsement granted to childcare providers who surpass the minimum criteria by ensuring that 100% of staff are trained in pediatric first aid and that this knowledge remains current and confidently applied by practitioners.

What will your child learn in Early Years?

Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. The care and education offered by Breaside Early Years helps children to continue to do this by providing all children with interesting activities that are tailored to their age and stage of development.

All of the Early Years year groups enjoy busy, well planned and stimulating daily timetables with an excellent mix of academic, fun and calming activities across the whole day.

PE & Gymnastics

Our youngest learners at our school are introduced to a diverse range of physical education activities. Through PE and Gymnastics, they develop their physical strength and coordination, while Yoga promotes mindfulness and flexibility.

Language classes

Our youngest children are immersed in a world of languages, with the chance to explore French and Spanish. Taught by specialist teachers, these language classes not only introduce linguistic skills but also nurture independence and confidence, setting a strong foundation for their future journeys.

Music

Music lessons not only introduce children to the joys of melody and rhythm but it also helps them cultivate independence and confidence, providing a solid foundation for their future endeavours.
